Refund Policy

Refund windows, cancellation timing, and how credits or wallet balances are handled.

Overview

  • Monthly plans can be refunded within 7 days of the current billing period starting.
  • Annual plans can be refunded within 14 days of the current billing period starting.
  • Refunds are prorated based on unused value. Dodo Payments is the system of record for the remaining refundable amount, especially if value has already been credited, used, or refunded.

Cancel at period end

A site owner can cancel a subscription at the end of the current billing period. The site stays active until the paid period ends, and the subscription does not renew after that date.

Refund and cancel now

When a subscription is inside the refund window, Flax may show a refund and cancel option. This asks Dodo to cancel the subscription now and refund the available prorated unused value.

Cancel subscription dialog with refund and period-end cancellation options
The cancellation dialog shows refund availability and the option to cancel at the period end.

If Dodo reports that no refundable amount remains, Flax cancels the subscription and shows that no refundable balance remains. This can happen when a previous refund, plan change, or wallet balance adjustment has already consumed the refundable value.

Plan changes and refunds

  • Upgrades usually happen immediately and may require an immediate card charge.
  • Tier downgrades may happen immediately and may create or apply Dodo wallet balance for unused value.
  • Outside the cash-refund window, unused downgrade value is handled as Dodo wallet balance rather than a refund to the payment method.
  • Switching from annual billing to monthly billing usually waits until the next billing date unless it is also a tier downgrade.

Wallet balance and localized currencies

Dodo may apply wallet balance to future subscription charges. The card charge can appear in the checkout currency, while wallet balance can appear in the wallet or settlement currency. Flax separates these lines in the plan change preview so the card charge and wallet balance are not confused.

Merchant of record

Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for Flax subscription payments. Dodo handles payment processing, receipts, taxes where applicable, refunds, and wallet balance application.
